He's supposed to be keeping people in line, but this ADA County jail deputy is now facing an attempted strangulation charge.

28 year old Matthew Pond has been fired after a reported attempted strangulation that happened at Pond's home in Caldwell on February 17th.

According to KTVB, Pond actually told his supervisor about the incident and he turned himself into the Canyon County Jail on Monday.

It's unclear what happened to provoke the attempted strangulation, but as far as his job is concerned, Pond has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.

He's been an ADA County jail deputy since May of 2015. I have to give him props for turning himself in, but this could cripple his career. The Caldwell Police are investigating the situation and we'll keep you posted on what happens in this case.
