A 26 year old woman has been killed and 4 children injured in a car crash in Caldwell.

According to KTVB, Maria Lopez was driving North in her minivan just before 5 pm at the intersection of Marsing and Riverside Road near Lake Lowell.

Maria ran a stop sign and crashed into the back of a semitrailer headed westbound.

Maria had 4 children with her and an adult passenger. 3 people were ejected from the vehicle while Maria was stuck inside. Authorities say all were wearing seat belts, but it's not clear if the children were properly restrained.

The extent of everyone's injuries is unknown, although everyone was taken to the hospital and Maria died at the scene.

The driver of the semi was not hurt and police are looking for a third vehicle that may have witnessed the crash.

If you've seen a black full sized crew cab Dodge pick-up truck with all terrain tires and tinted windows contact police. They just want to see if the people driving the truck saw anything that will aid with the investigation.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Maria's family and friends and we hope the children and other passenger of the van make full recoveries.
